The Article 370 movie, unlike the ones that I named earlier, follows a serious story and is more of an eye-opener for many. We all know that Article 370 was abrogated in 2019 from Kashmir, but how did it happen? Was it done in a snap? This film explains just that. And this is my honest Article 370 movie review.
To be clear, I have tried to keep this movie review as much spoiler-free as possible. This movie review is about the Article 370 movie that has been released recently. Article 370 Movie Review: What Makes It Good?
The best thing about the Article 370 movie is how it has been divided into 6 different parts or say, chapters. All these chapters make it really easy for the audience to understand what’s actually going on in the movie. Moreover, all the actors in the movie did some great work with their dialogues and deliveries. Especially actors like Yami Gautam and Kiran Karmarkar left a mark on me when I watched Article 370. Their roles were difficult and yet they played them in the best possible manner.

Now, the most common question that everyone has is, ‘Is the Article 370 movie a real story?’. And the answer is, NO. The Article 370 movie’s story is not truly real. It is based on a true story but the movie’s team made some changes to its storyline; we call it creative liberty. But, it’s equally important to understand that the Article 370 movie gives us a rough idea of how difficult it must have been for the government and associated authorities to remove Article 370 from Kashmir. This movie does a great job of explaining all the complex details easily.
Furthermore, the movie itself has a long disclaimer at the start, mentioning that this movie is not truly factual. So, nope, the Article 370 movie is not a real story but it is based on a true story.
Article 370 Movie Review: Yami Gautam Shines Like a Star
No matter what opinion you hold about the Article 370 movie, you can’t deny the fact that Yami Gautam gave her best performance to date in this latest Bollywood movie. Not only she managed to get through to the audience with her story and emotions, but also showed some great skills on the screen. While watching her movie, I could only wonder how she improved so much in this film and OMG 2 too. So, Yami Gautam deserves all the praise in this Article 370 review for her fabulous performance.

Along with Yami Gautam, there were many underrated and well-performing actors who made the Article 370 movie such a huge success. I have mentioned some of these names below:

Problems with the Article 370 Movie
No movie can be flawless and perfect, which is why I nitpicked some small issues in the Article 370 movie that might not be liked by everyone:
- Too big of a build-up: The build-up for the actual action in the movie was a bit too long.
- Change in dialogues: In some places, the dialogues of the movie have been changed and they do not match with the dubbing.
To be honest, I couldn’t find more problems in this movie and that is why it is so good.
Article 370 Movie: Propaganda or Not?
The biggest controversy surrounding the Article 370 movie is whether or not it is a propaganda movie. This is my opinion, very subjective, but I believe that a movie made on the history of our country need not be propaganda. Did Kashmir have Article 370? Yes. Was it removed in 2019? Yes. Was it a good and necessary move? Yes. Since all these facts are correct and the abrogation of Article 370 from Kashmir was a great move in India’s history, making a movie on it is a good move. Call it propaganda or whatever, it is a good movie regardless.
Article 370 Movie Review: Final Verdict
My final verdict in this Article 370 movie review would be – this movie is a masterpiece. I’m not saying this out of any prejudices but purely because I loved this movie when I watched it for the first time. But is it watchable multiple times? I’d say no. Once you understand the story and get to know all the important events, the Article 370 movie might not create the same impact on you.
